A few new things

This plate is bigger than it looks, I couldn't even finish it!

Buy one get one free, yes!

How amazing does Lauren Conrad look?
Here are some of the new things which I've bought in the last week or so. For some weird reason, now that it's Autumn, I've suddenly realised how amazing pastel nail polishes are. I think it's because since most of the world's population live in the northern hemisphere and have opposite seasons, I've tricked myself into getting excited for spring..?

This might have something to do with the fact that I picked up some pretty tortoiseshell sunglasses..Although since Sydney is still sunny 60% of the time, even in the dead of winter, I'll still have plenty of opportunities to wear them. Don't be too jealous of our winter sun though, we never ever get snow, not even a little bit. I have actually touched snow and am always oh-so-jealous of people who get to enjoy a white christmas. *sad face*. Note to self; stop going through pinterest boards dedicated to the arrival of spring in the northern hemisphere and concentrate about being glad about autumn instead.

I also finally go my hands on the gorgeous Lauren Conrad's Beauty book. It never fails to amaze me how she always managed to look amazingly-put-together every time she steps out the door and hopefully I'll get a few pointers!! :)

*The lighting in the first picture is different to that in the rest because I was playing around with my lighting and somehow didn't realise it was drastically different until I was editing, and by then it was too late. Sorry if it bothers you!

'Tis the season to be jolly

With Christmas well on it's way, I'm really starting to feel the festive spirit, especially since all the big shopping centres, and individual store windows are bringing out their Christmas decorations.

True red and very dark navy blue are my favourite nail colours for the silly season since these two colours go with just about everything. Working on how to wear them together

Baking Christmas cookies always fills the house with that lovely, spicy, baking smell and they are wonderful to nibble on with a cup of tea. Planning on making another batch soon, since these got eaten very, very quickly.

Counting down the days till Christmas with my chocolate advent calendar (child at heart!). :)

Bought this mint and gold bangle the other day with a friend, she got a matching lilac one. So this is officially a 'friendship bangle'. <3

Hope everyone's holiday preparations are going well, whatever holiday you celebrate.

Pillar box red

If you follow me on twitter (@whatjoycedid) you would know that I found this fabulous, classic Butter London nail polish for just two freaking dollars. I'm quite damn chuffed with myself since it was originally FOURTEEN* dollars. BARGAIN! Unfortunately, I don't have some link where super cheap nail polish is sold since I stumbled upon this amazing find purely by chance. I was popping into a convenience store (either for chips or ice-cream I can't remember) and there was a metal basket thing near the counter full of Ulta3 polishes priced at $2 each; but lying on top, like a diamond in the rough was this beautiful baby- MY new beautiful baby.

Ok it was quite that dramatic and but I may or may not have jumped up and down with glee, before asked the  shopkeeper- "IS THIS TWO DOLLARS. ARE YOU SURE. COULD YOU SCAN IT FOR ME." and lo' and behold it was. HALLELUJAH.

Now forget what you just read, I'm still slightly delirious happiness.

*there are going to be a lot of CAPITAL LETTERS which means I'M SPEAKING (or typing) LOUDLY TO EMPHASIZE SOMETHING.
